Instructions

  • Start by pouring the icing sugar into a large bowl.
  • Gradually add some tablespoons of water, stirring carefully to avoid lumps. The goal is to obtain a homogeneous and fairly thick mixture.
  • Incorporate the vanilla into the mixture, which will give your frosting a delicate and irresistible aroma.
  • Use a wooden spatula to work the mixture until it becomes a smooth and velvety cream. The ideal consistency is achieved when lifting the spatula, the frosting falls forming a continuous ribbon.
  • To give your frosting that extra shine, after spreading it on the cake or pastries, bake the dessert at 180°C for a few seconds, just enough time to dry the surface without cooking it.

Notes

For an original and colorful touch, add a few drops of natural food coloring to your frosting; you can customize your desserts according to the occasion or your personal taste! Another idea is to enrich the frosting with grated orange or lemon zest for a citrusy flavor that pairs perfectly with many desserts.
