Rum Bananas

  • In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • In the meantime, peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.
  • Place the bananas in the pan with the melted butter, making sure to position them so that both sides can brown evenly.
  • Brown the bananas on both sides until they turn golden brown.
  • Splash the bananas with rum, being careful not to get too close to the fire to avoid flames.
  • Let the rum evaporate until a light alcoholic sauce forms.
  • Transfer the bananas to a serving plate.
  • Serve the warm rum bananas, optionally accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Notes

For an extra touch, you can add some toasted and chopped pecans as a topping.
