Instructions
In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
In the meantime, peel the bananas and cut them in half lengthwise.
Place the bananas in the pan with the melted butter, making sure to position them so that both sides can brown evenly.
Brown the bananas on both sides until they turn golden brown.
Splash the bananas with rum, being careful not to get too close to the fire to avoid flames.
Let the rum evaporate until a light alcoholic sauce forms.
Transfer the bananas to a serving plate.
Serve the warm rum bananas, optionally accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can add some toasted and chopped pecans as a topping.
