Wood-Fired Baked Bucatini

Total Time 2 hours

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Prepare a fairly large baking tray and position it on the work surface.
  • Take the bucatini and arrange them inside the tray evenly. Make sure not to overlap them.
  • Take the fresh tomato and chop it into pieces. Add a large amount of fresh tomato over the bucatini in the tray.
  • Add a generous amount of salt over the fresh tomato. This will help to flavor the pasta during cooking.
  • Drizzle some olive oil over the tomato and bucatini. The olive oil will give a rich flavor and help prevent the pasta from sticking during cooking.
  • Sprinkle the oregano over everything. The oregano will add a touch of aroma and flavor to your pasta.
  • Make sure all the ingredients are evenly distributed on the tray.
  • Turn on the wood-fired oven and heat it to a temperature of about 180°C.
  • Place the tray with the bucatini in the preheated wood-fired oven.
  • Let the bucatini cook in the tomato for about two hours. During cooking, check regularly to make sure the pasta does not stick or burn.
  • After two hours, check the cooking of the bucatini. The pasta should be al dente, cooked but still slightly firm to the bite.
  • Remove the tray from the wood-fired oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
  • Transfer the bucatini to individual portions and serve them hot.
  • You can garnish the bucatini with some fresh oregano or grated cheese, if desired.
  • Enjoy your wood-fired baked bucatini, a delicious and rustic dish that will surely satisfy your appetite.

Notes

Add some grated cheese over the bucatini before baking for an extra touch of flavor.
