Blancmange: Quick and Easy Recipe

  • Mix starch and sugar together.
  • Add the cream a little at a time.
  • Add the lemon peel.
  • Slowly cook the mixture over a gentle flame, stirring as for a cream.
  • When the mixture is thick, after removing the lemon peel, fill 6 glass ramekins, previously soaked in cold water.
  • Cover them with cling film and keep them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

For an even more mouthwatering variation, you can decorate the blancmange with black cherry caramel or strawberries blended with sugar. Another delicious option is to serve it with a dark chocolate cream. For a lighter version, replace some of the cream with milk.
